Drawing from my own memories and experiences, my work depicts quiet, tender scenes of my everyday life. Stories ranging from the admiration of a lover to a figure cradling freshly foraged guineos work together to reveal moments of compassion, introspection, and self-discovery. Vibrant, tropical colors harken back to my childhood in Puerto Rico and adolescence in South Florida. These drawings aim to take an earnest look at moments that though banal at first, provide me further understanding of my memories, relationships, and self. In recalling these memories, I distort the original image by embellishing and transforming them into new narratives and possibilities. My practice involves revisiting these moments with the freedom to amplify colors, textures, and emotions, thereby reimagining the essence of people, objects, and scenes.
